On Saturday Nepal was hit by a massive earthquake that devastated large parts of Kathmandu as well as many suburbs and remote mountain villages and towns.
A few hours later the first mapping actions were started by the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (H.O.T.). These are coordinated with the Kathmandu Living Labs team, a resident of Kathmandu organization and long-term collaborators of the Institute of Geography Heidelberg University.
In cooperation with Kathmandu Living Labs the Heidelberg Disaster Mappers want to launch a crisis mapping action on Monday evening at the Department of Geography, Berliner Str. at 17:00 to support their relief efforts and to help the active stakeholders and first responders there.
Anybody who wants to help us with this, is hereby invited to come on Monday evening (27.04.2015) to the Institute of Geography Heidelberg University.
If possible bring your own laptop because of the limited number of computers in the available computer labs. We will care for snacks and refreshments again as in previous mapping events.
Thank you for your support!
