The fourth conference on Scientific Computing and Cultural Heritage (SCCH) 2013 organized by Heidelberg Graduate School of Mathematical and Computational Methods for the Sciences (HGS MathComp) took place on 18th of November 2013 at the University of Heidelberg. This conference brought together scientists from computer science and applied mathematics on the one hand and researchers in interdisciplinary projects on the other hand. The main topic was the application of scientific computing techniques to improve research work in areas such as trans-cultural studies, archaeology and similar topics.
Amin Mobasheri, Mohamed Bakillah and Alexander Zipf from GIScience group and Kilian Schultes from Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe” presented a paper regarding the research objectives and methodology for a running project of distributed web processing geo-services for spatio-temporal analysis of geo-data, the case of Lloyd’s lists.
Among several other submissions and publications, our contribution was selected for the best paper & presentation award by the conference chairs.
