this is a bit of a provoking question – but if you want – this is a very shortened version of one of the research questions in a new project on Psychogeography together with the Central Institute for Mental Health (ZI) in Mannheim and other parters. It looks into the relationship between stress, mental health and diverse environmental and social factors. Formally it started just around last Christmas and now is getting momentum as Helen Dorn and Tobias Törnros are now starting to work on related aspects in the GIScience Research Group. Also a first consortium project meeting has been held on Tuesday 14th at the Central Institute for Mental Health (ZI) in Mannheim discussing the work packages and data requirements etc. The work of the GIScience group will focus on methodological GIScience aspects of gathering, processing, assessing and analysing relevant geographical information both related to the physical environment as well as sociodemographic factors and correlating these with data collected by the partners from medicine and psychology. Within this project we offer thesis or jobs for student assistants (HiWi).
