HeiGIT gGmbH is a research-oriented, non-profit company that aims to improve the transformation of knowledge and technology from basic geoinformatics research into practical applications. To expand our network of partners and promote the usage of HeiGIT’s open, non-profit services, we are looking for a
Public Relations Manager (m,f,d) up to 100%.
The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
The diverse tasks awaiting you include:
- Self-driven PR and communication strategy development, including campaigns and storytelling approaches for our services and research.
- Crafting scientific communication including press releases and technical articles coordinated across multiple channels including our website and social media.
- Addressing partners, user communities and media outlets to build up and expand our international network of partners, users and contributors.
- Advising and supporting science management in external communications.
- Maintaining and expanding journalist and media contacts.
About you:
The successful candidate for this application will ideally:
- Hold a university degree in the natural sciences and demonstrate interest across our topics: geography, geoinformation, computer science, humanitarian aid, sustainability and climate action.
- Have a degree in fields like digital marketing, communications, journalism or
- Have several years of professional experience in PR and media relations, ideally in an international environment and with an initial network of media contacts and agencies.
- Be fluent in written and spoken English and German.
- Take initiative, work independently, and be flexible with new projects and information.
- Be aware of social media guidelines and trends in the non-profit and research space.
- Have successful team management and organization experience and keep cool even when the temperature rises.
